FUFA Women Super League returns for 2023/24 season with exciting match-ups

Kampala, (UG): The much-anticipated FUFA Women Super League for the 2023/24 season is all set to commence tomorrow, Saturday, October 14, with a promising showcase of the best of women’s football in Uganda and a lineup of thrilling matches to kick off the season.

The opening match set to be held at UCU Mukono playground will see UCU Lady Cardinals hosting Lukoki Jessy’s Lady Doves FC at 10 AM on Saturday and fans can expect an intense battle between these two talented teams in an attempt to make an early impact in the league.

On Sunday, October 15, defending champions Queens WFC will take on Uganda Martyrs Lubaga LFC at 10 AM at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The reigning champions will be eager to start their title defence with a strong performance, while Uganda Martyrs Lubaga will aim to upset the reigning champions.

As for the new entrants in the Women’s Super League, Wakiso Hill WFC will host She Makerere University WFC at 10 AM at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

This match will provide an opportunity for both teams to make a positive start to their maiden season in the league.

Furthermore, Asubo Gafford LFC will welcome She Maroons FC at 10 AM at Kampala Quality Playground.

Both teams will be looking to secure an early victory and establish themselves as contenders in the league.

Another exciting matchup on the schedule is Rhines SS WFC hosting Kawempe Muslim LFC at 10 AM at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium. This clash promises to be a thrilling encounter between two formidable teams.

It is worth noting that She Corporate and Olila High faced relegation last season, stepping aside for the new entrants, Wakiso Hill and She Maroons, who are poised to make their mark on the league.

The FUFA Women’s Super League has this new season adopted purple and white as its brand colours, adding a vibrant touch to the women’s football landscape in Uganda.

With many teams having made good transfers, the new Women Super League is expected to be very competitive and fans can expect fierce competition, superb skills, and entertaining matches as the teams compete for the ultimate glory in the championship.
