Zombo, (UG): Zombo District LC 5 Chairperson, Mr James Oyullu has vehemently distanced himself from any arrangements pertaining to the peaceful demonstration to clamorously communicate the plight of the people of Zombo and the road network crisis, DailyExpress understands.

An audio of Mr James which is now viral on social media, showcases him reckoning emotionally and primarily alleging the organisers didn’t co-opt him and the objective of the demonstration to publicise the National Unity  Party (NUP) in the NRM stronghold district. He added that the organisers of the demonstration could have opted for a better way forward, rather than a demonstration.

Candidly, the organisers of the demonstration feel they are “getting stabbed in the back as the shepherd has delivered the flock to the wolves”. Now assorted choruses and mixed reactions are directed at the LCV Chairperson James Oyullu and other political leaders whose traces are not ascertained anywhere close to the organization of the demonstration.

Mr Sam Rwothomio, the lead role organiser of the peaceful demonstration told this publication that the leaders earlier on painted him as a rebel, but now they are associating him with the National Unity Party,”…they are trying to frustrate this mission, is it NUP that brought the program of the peaceful demonstration, Rwothomio queried.

Paranoia has already engulfed some participants in the demonstration as allegations of publizing NUP in Zombo district take centre stage and well aware of the soared relationship with security, the presence of district leaders would partially shield the participants from unnecessary altercations.

Mr Brian Omirambe, a concerned resident tasked the organisers to clear the doubts, “You told us the program is about peaceful demonstration, now they have mounted political issues that you are with intention of mobilizing for NUP,” Omirambe seeks clarification.

Meanwhile, Mr Richard Omondi laments the lobbying abilities of the leaders in Zombo district and Cited incompetence ,”…..let’s prepare for achievements such as salts, plates, funeral, chairs and tents. Roads, hospitals, schools and livelihoods are at disastrous levels,” Omondi posted via his social media account.

This is going to be the first demonstration in the history of Zombo district as the people demand better infrastructure in retribution for their votes.
