2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Put confirms final Cranes’ squad travelling to Morocco

FUFA appoints Belgian Paul Put as new Head Coach of Uganda Cranes

Kampala, (UG): Uganda Cranes Head Coach Put Paul Joseph has named the final 27-man squad travelling to Morocco ahead of the two upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Guinea and Somalia.

Uganda is placed in Group G, alongside Algeria, Guinea, Botswana, Mozambique, and Somalia.

The first two fixtures for the Cranes ( against Guinea and Somalia) will be played on Friday, November 17th and Tuesday, 21st, both hosted in Morocco. 

The team, including local-based players and officials, is scheduled to depart for Morocco on Sunday at 10 PM aboard Uganda Airlines and will merge with foreign-based players who will travel directly to Berkane, Morocco, directly from their respective clubs.

There is high anticipation for a strong performance as Uganda Cranes strives to secure the first-ever spot in the prestigious 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The squad leaving Uganda on Sunday includes goalkeepers Salim Omar Magoola, Isima Bin Rashid Abdul Watenga, and Jack Komakech; midfielders like Bobosi Byaruhanga and Khalid Aucho; and forwards including Denis Omedi and Milton Karisa.
