Badru Chemisto: Mbale Heroes team manager suspended, fined shs1m for game disrepute

Kampala, (UG): The FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) has suspended Mbale Heroes FC Team Manager Mr Chemisto Badiru for two months, and fined him shs one million over putting the game into disrepute during and after a recent fixture.

The incident occurred during the match between Mbale Heroes FC and Young Elephants FC on October 22nd, 2023, in Mbale when Chemisto attacked the referees in the dressing room, expressing his displeasure with the added time.

Furthermore, he allegedly mobilized hooligans to assault the match officials after the game.

As part of the disciplinary action, Chemisto is required to pay the UGX1M fine by the end of his two-month suspension. Until the fine is paid in full, he is prohibited from participating in any football-related activities.

In addition to the individual sanction, the FDP has issued a warning to Mbale Heroes FC regarding the conduct of its officials.

The club has been urged to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future. Failure to comply with the sanction could result in further disciplinary measures against the club.

The FDP has imposed these penalties in accordance with Article 14(8) and 39(3) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code. This serves as a reminder to all football stakeholders of the importance of upholding fair play and respect within the sport.
