Holiday makers package returns at Kampala Standard to equip learners with special skills and training

Kentim Entrepreneurship Centre Kyanja has unveiled the second edition of the holidaymakers’ package targeting pupils in schools around Kampala to attain special training and skills in various aspects of life.

The special training which will be offered by experts from Makerere Business School and Innovation Centre will take place from January 08th 2024 until February 02 at Kampala Standard Primary and Nursery School, an urban elementary school located in Kyanja, a Kampala urban suburb.

Dubbed the Holiday Makers Special Skilling Package, parents and guardians can enrol their learners aged 5-14 to gain special skills in Catering, Computer Training, Soccer and Swimming, all at a fee of Ugx 200,000 only for the three weeks period.

This publication understands that under the Catering package, learners will be trained in cake making, baking daddies, and cooking tomato sauce and jam, among others. In the computer skilling package, they will train in basic computer applications, Photoshop and graphic design, as well as video editing.

In the special sports package, pupils will receive free soccer training (on artificial turf), and swimming lessons, all conducted by the Kentim Sports Academy.

This is the second holiday makers package organized by Kentim Entrepreneurship Centre, after the previous one which took place in September this year.

Besides academics, Kampala Standard Primary School has already opened its gates for the 2024 academic year intake for parents who would love to enrol their pupils at the school. Interviews for the admissions are set to be held in December between 02nd-10th at the school premises in Kyanja.

The school offers special programs which include a fully-packed local curriculum blended with international packages, a sound academic system (witnessed by the school’s performance in the previous PLE results), teaching international languages (such as Kiswahili, French, and Chinese), and above all, rooted on a religious foundation.

The school also offer a special package dubbed the Young Engineers program that helps to boost pupils’ critical thinking and lots of co-curricular activities that include swimming, scouting, sports, and agriculture value addition among others.
