Uganda Premier League: BUL, Maroons win as Kitara, Express stumble in matchday 8

In a pulsating fixture of Matchday 8 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, Bul FC showcased their prowess yet again, with an emphatic 2-1 victory over Kitara Football Club while Maroons FC caused a stir with a surprising 1-0 win against Express FC.

The match between Bul FC and Kitara Football Club unfolded with intense action but a 2-1 scoreline in favour of the hosts solidified their position at the top of the league table with 21 points.

In other matches played, Mbarara City Football Club and Sports Club Villa played out a goalless draw in a closely contested encounter, leaving both teams with a point each. 

While NEC FC and Wakiso Giants FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, highlighting the competitive nature of the league.

Busoga Football Club secured a 2-1 win over KCCA FC in a hard-fought battle, while Arua Hills SC displayed a dominant performance, defeating UPDF FC Uganda with a 2-0 scoreline.

Vipers SC maintained their momentum by securing a 2-0 victory against URA FC, further solidifying their position in the top tier of the league.

Gaddafi FC and Soltilo Brights Stars FC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, showcasing the unpredictability of the league.

As the match-day concluded, the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table witnessed some notable shifts. 

Bul FC leads with 21 points, followed by Vipers SC with 17 points. Kitara Football Club and NEC Football Club share the third and Fourth positions with 16 points respectively.

Maroons Football Club’s victory over Express Football Club propelled them to the fifth position with 14 points, while Express FC now stands in sixth place with 12 points.

Looking ahead to next week’s fixtures, all eyes will be on the clash between Maroons FC and Mbarara City Football Club, scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 pm.

The league remains highly competitive, promising more excitement in the upcoming matches.
