UEFA Champions League: Arsenal in rampant 6-0 victory, Bayern held, and late heroics in Sevilla-PSV clash

In a thrilling night of UEFA Champions League action on Matchday 5, Arsenal showcased their dominance with a resounding 6-0 victory over Lens, while Bayern Munich settled for a goalless draw against Copenhagen.

Real Madrid edged past Napoli 3-2, and Sporting Braga and Union Berlin shared honours with a 1-1 draw.

In a high-scoring encounter, Benfica and Internazionale played out a spectacular 3-3 draw, and Real Sociedad faced a goalless deadlock against Real Bull Salzburg.

Sevilla suffered a late blow, losing 3-2 to PSV Eindhoven, and Galatasaray and Manchester United thrilled fans with a 3-3 draw.

As the dust settled on Wednesday’s fixtures, 12 teams secured their places in the Round of 16.

Notable qualifiers include Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City.

Bayern Munich clinched the top spot in Group A with two matches to spare, joined by RB Leipzig in swiftly advancing from Group G.

Real Sociedad and Inter claimed the top two spots in Group D.

Group B witnessed an early conclusion as Arsenal demolished Lens, securing their spot as group leaders.

Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven’s comeback victory over Sevilla propelled them to qualification with eight points, trumping both Dutch and French clubs in the group.

With the final group stage fixtures set for December 12 and 13, the Round of 16 draw awaits on December 18.

The first-leg matches will unfold on February 13, 14, 20, and 21, with returns scheduled for March 5, 6, 12, and 13.
