Kampala, (UG): In a sombre announcement on Thursday evening, the Ugandan Football Federation (FUFA) revealed the untimely demise of Esther Musoke, their former Marketing Director.
Musoke, who had served in this pivotal role for almost a decade from 2014 to 2022, passed away on Thursday evening at Mengo Hospital Kampala. The cause of her death remains undisclosed.
The football community, led by FUFA president Hon Moses Hashim Magogo, expressed profound grief at the loss.
Magogo credited Musoke for attracting numerous sponsors during her tenure, playing a vital role in enhancing FUFA’s brand value. “All those sponsorships we got at the time she was the lady working behind the curtains,” He reminisced.
Musoke’s contributions extended beyond FUFA, as she had recently assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer at the secretariat of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Joining the league staff just last year, she swiftly became an invaluable member, leaving an indelible mark with her dedication and passion.
“Very saddened by her demise, may the Almighty Allah judge her with mercy as well as strengthen those she has left behind.” Magogo expressed condolences
He also revealed that Musoke was expected to play a crucial role at AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast on the Confederation of African Football Online Duties.
The news of Musoke’s passing is not only a loss for her family and colleagues but also for the entire country and the sports fraternity.
The burial arrangements are yet to be communicated, leaving the football community in anticipation of bidding farewell to a remarkable individual who contributed significantly to the growth and success of Ugandan football.
