Kampala, (UG): The Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen Kahinda Otafiire has revealed that the report detailing findings on the attempted assassination of City Pastor Aloysius Bugingo will be delayed for an unspecified time.

Otafiire speaking to journalists about the attack which claimed Bugingo’s bodyguard Richard Muhumuza said investigative reports about murders are usually delayed, due to the amount of time needed for the investigation to be done.

The minister therefore expects the report to take at least more than a week before it is ready and brought to his desk.

The minister also questioned the attack on Bugingo, wondering how the killer got to know where the pastor was going to park, and how he was able to attack a vehicle in motion from the front without fear of being knocked.

He therefore urged the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and give him a detailed report, that wasn’t subject to guesswork.

Otafiire also said that government cannot provide security for all pastors, even when they’re prone to attacks, as per request by Pastor Martin Ssempa of the defunct Makerere Community Church.

Pastor Bugingo, the Director and Founder of House of Prayer Ministries and Salt Media was attacked by unknown gunmen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Namungoona, a Kampala suburb. The grievous attack claimed the life of his driver and bodyguard Richard Muhumuza, an SFC soldier.
