Getafe, (ESP): Manchester United’s English forward Mason Greenwood currently on loan at Getafe CF has been named the club’s La Liga Player of the Month for December following his recent run of form for his Spanish side.
Greenwood who joined the LaLiga outfit in the summer after being dropped charges of sexual assault and ‘attempt to kill’ has turned out to be a key player for his new side establishing himself as a starter throughout.
The English international of Jamaican descent has already notched three goals and four assists in his 12 La Liga starts this season attracting loads of interest from a number of high-profile clubs in his signature.
In his run of form for the month of December, the 22-year-old arguably had his best game in a Getafe shirt when he scored a goal and set up another against Sevilla as the visitors won 3-0 to bolster their hopes for European football next season.
The award, voted for by LaLiga fans saw the United academy graduate rewarded for his recent performances as he was named the Player of the Month for Getafe, as voted for by fans from across La Liga.
Greenwood beat four of his teammates including his prolific front partner Borja Mayoral, to win the monthly accolade awarded in the Jugador Cinco Estrellas.
The award is not to be confused with the EA LaLiga Sports Player of the Month Award whose December edition was won by Artem Dovby of Girona FC, the current joint-table leaders alongside Real Madrid.
