Police officer arrested over defiling 13-year-old girl

Mbale, (UG): The Territorial Police in Mbale have arrested a 25-year-old police officer at the rank of constable on charges of aggravated defilement of a 13-year-old female girl.

The incident unfolded within the walls of the Mbale Police Barracks on the night of January 15, 2024, at 7 pm when the unnamed juvenile fell victim to an alleged aggravated defilement by the officer.

PC Bainomugisha Dancan, a 25-year-old police officer on general duties is accused of heinous acts against the young girl with preliminary reports indicating that he forcefully took the girl in his uniport vehicle, subjecting her to a horrifying experience that no child should endure.

Mweru Mahad, a 24-year-old Ugandan businessman and resident of South Central Ward in Mbale City, who had been hosting the girl in his residence, was shocked to discover the ordeal that had befallen the young girl.

Promptly reporting the incident to Mbale CPS on the same night at 9 pm, Mweru provided a detailed account of the events.

Police then swiftly took action and recorded statements from both Mweru and the victim, as well as conducting a thorough examination of the victim on PF3A.

The crime scene at Mbale police barracks was investigated, leading to the arrest of PC Bainomugisha who is currently in custody awaiting his file to be sanctioned for court appearance.
