Several injured as Gateway Bus overturns in Amuria

Amuria, (UG):- At least seventeen passengers are currently nursing injuries at Amuria General Hospital following a Saturday afternoon motor crash which involved a Gateway Bus at Obuku cell, Amuria Town Council, along the Amuria-Kotido Road in Amuria District.

The Nissan Bus of Registration Number UAL 117Z is said to have overturned several times in the incident at approximately 2 pm on Saturday, March 02, 2024.

Preliminary investigations into the accident suggest that ongoing road maintenance activities on the Amuria-Kotido Road played a contributing factor with eyewitnesses saying the culvert under repair, with soil piled onto it, caused the bus to skid off the road, resulting in its overturning.
