Woman burns husband, 7-year-old child in house after failed relationship

Dokolo, (UG):- The Territorial Police in Dokolo District have arrested a jilted female lover on allegations of setting ablaze her ex-husband and a seven-year-old child in a grass thatch house.

The deceased have been identified as Francis Onapa and Sadrack Abor, 7, all residents of Akaidebe Cell, Central Ward while the suspect is Kevin Atim a resident of the same area in Dokolo Town Council.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that Atim used petrol to see the grass-thatched house on fire after a relationship dispute with her husband Onapa that has not been settled for long.

Residents who surrounded the deceased home say their effort to turn off the power did not yield tangible results since fire overpowered them.

Ms Patience Bangazi, the District Police Commander – Dokolo said investigation into the matter has commenced and confirmed having the suspect in custody pending court appearance on charges of arson and murder.
