Dokolo, (UG):- The group of youths in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) unified under their umbrella body Yellow Youth Movement (YYM) on Monday afternoon painted the streets of Dokolo Town Council yellow as they canvassed votes for Ms Rose Adongo Elau, the NRM Candidate in the forthcoming District Woman MP by-election.
Led by Mr Jacob Eyeru, the YYM National Coordinator and Chairperson of the National Youth Council, the Yellow Youths as they prefer to be profoundly called rallied voters in Dokolo to turn in big numbers this Thursday, March 21, to vote for Ms Adongo, the party’s flag bearer.
“We have joined the @NRMOnline candidate in Dokolo to converse for support in the Woman MP seat. I thank the @YYM256 youth supporters in Dokolo for making the matter Yellow,” Eyeru posted via X, confirming the presence of the ruling party in the district.
DailyExpress also understands that President Museveni, the National Chairman of the NRM will tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, camp in Dokolo where he will hold a grand rally at Atabu Primary School and Amatiburu Primary School to campaign for Ms Adongo and assure the electorate NRM’s ambition to reclaim the Dokolo Woman Seat from the opposition.

The election for the new Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament is slated for this Thursday, March 21st, 2024.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal on January 18.
The Yellow Youth Movement (YYM) adds to the many initiatives under the ruling NRM party which have been formed to ensure the party reclaims its stronghold support in areas where the opposition have previously dominated.
The YYM, launched three weeks ago is aimed at mobilising youths across the country to support the NRM party right from grassroots positions to the presidency come the 2026 general election.
