Shortlisted applicants to undergo tests as police set interview dates for PPCs

Following the announcement of interviews for the shortlisted Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) across the country, various policing regions in the country have asked all shortlisted candidates to prepare ahead of the seven-day exercise kicking off on Monday, April 8, 2024, to Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Speaking to Busoga East police spokesperson SSP Diana Nandawula, the applicants are tasked to confirm their names from the district police headquarters or central police stations where they submitted their applications.

SSP Nandawula says each district will have interviews on a separate date and a separate venue or recruitment centre, which has not been the case in the previous recruitment exercises.

“…applicants are urged to confirm their names from all district police headquarters or Central Police stations where they submitted their applications. Unlike previous recruitment, each district will have interviews on a separate date and venue/ recruitment,” SSP Nandawula said in a Tuesday notice adding that all shortlisted applicants must report to the recruitment centres by 8:00 am.

DailyExpress has established that the applicants shall undergo a physical fitness test, and written and oral interviews in addition to a mandatory medical examination.

Ms Nandawula warned non-shortlisted individuals to refrain from flocking the recruitment centres adding that the applicants shall be required to present original National Identity Cards and original academic documents.

The venues of the exercise across the districts in Busoga East with Iganga as the first district to handle the exercise on April 8, at Busoga University campus followed by Namutumba district on April 10, at Namutumba central police station.

Others are Bugweri district whose interviews are on April 11, at Buyanga sub-county headquarters and Bugiri district on April 12, at Bugiri district headquarters.

Namayingo district will conduct the interviews on April 13, 2024, at Namayingo district headquarters and the exercise in the region will close with the Mayuge district on April 14, 2024, where interviews of shortlisted applicants shall be conducted at Rena College Mayuge.

In a related development, Kiira regional policing region has also notified the public about the date and venue of the exercise which will strictly cover applicants from Jinja city and Jinja district.

Kiira regional police publicist SP James Mubi told DailyExpress that the interviews of the shortlisted applicants in the region shall be conducted at Jinja National Agricultural show grounds on April 12, 2024, and he asked the suiting applicants to organize their original academic documents and National IDs ahead of the exercise.

“Kiira region will conduct PPCs interviews on April 12, 2024, starting from 7 am at Jinja National Agricultural show grounds. Successful candidates will undergo a Fitness test, Aptitude test, oral test and medical examination,” SP Mubi said in a brief notice on Tuesday.

He also tasked those who applied to crosscheck their names with the three policing divisions and the regional police headquarters for inquiries about the exercise before emphasizing that their exercise will kick start at 7; 00 am on Friday next week.

“All those who applied should cross-check for their names with the three policing divisions that is to say CPS Jinja Central division, CPS Kakira division and CPS Buwenge division or cross-check with Kiira regional police headquarters for any inquiry or concerns about the same,” Mubi said.
