BUL FC Saturday emerged victorious in a dramatic penalty shootout, knocking out KCCA FC to secure a spot in the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The encounter, held in an electrifying atmosphere, saw both teams battling fiercely for supremacy from the opening whistle.

Despite numerous attempts on goal, the first half concluded with a deadlock, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the second half.

It was Alex Kitata of BUL FC who broke the deadlock early in the second half, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

However, KCCA FC responded swiftly, with Etienne Katenga finding the back of the net to level the scoreline.

With tensions mounting, neither team could find the decisive goal in regulation time, leading to an intense extra-time period. Despite the added time, the score remained unchanged, setting the stage for a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

As the shootout unfolded, both teams displayed nerves of steel, converting their initial penalties with precision.

However, it was BUL FC who ultimately emerged triumphant, with goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa making crucial saves to secure victory for his side.

Despite a valiant effort from KCCA FC, the misses from Herbert Achai and Peter Magambo proved costly, allowing BUL FC to clinch the win and advance to the semifinals.

With this hard-fought victory, BUL FC joins NEC FC in the semifinals, with both teams eager to continue their quest for Uganda Cup glory.
