Wife of Kibuku senior DPO dies in nasty road crash

Kibuku, (UG):- The community in Kibuku District, eastern Uganda is mourning the death of Joyce Wenene, the wife of Mr Michael Mbayo, the Senior District Production Officer (DPO) who perished in a tragic incident that unfolded at Goli-Goli in Goli-Goli Sub-County on Friday, May 03, 2024. .

The unfortunate incident occurred on the morning of the fateful day when Mr Mbayo and his wife were travelling on their motorcycle towards the Kamonkoli side.

Reports indicate that Mrs Wenene’s clothing became entangled in the motorcycle’s rear wheel, causing her to lose balance and fall. As a result, she suffered a severe impact on her forehead upon hitting the hard surface of the road.

Immediate assistance was sought, and Mrs Wenene, aged 56 and a resident of Mugwerehe same village, was rushed to Bukyanagandi HCII. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical professionals, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Her body was subsequently transferred to Kibuku HC IV, where a postmortem examination was conducted before being released to her grieving family.

“Local law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the scene of the accident, documenting the incident and seizing the motorcycle for further inspection as part of their ongoing investigation,” said SP Semewo Samuel, the Bukedi North Regional Police spokesperson.

Mr. Michael Mbayo, the senior district production officer, survived the accident and did not sustain any serious injuries. His wife’s tragic demise has left him and the community devastated.

The loss of Joyce Mbayo Wenene has sent shockwaves through the community, as she was a beloved wife and a source of support for her husband, Mr. Mbayo, who holds a significant position within the district’s production department.

Colleagues, friends, and community members are mourning the untimely loss of a cherished individual known for her contributions to the community.

As the investigation into the accident continues, local authorities remain committed to uncovering the exact circumstances that led to this heartbreaking incident.

SP Semewo Samuel assured the public that every effort is being made to shed light on the series of events that resulted in the unfortunate death of Joyce Mbayo Wenene.
