Son of Mulago Institute boss found dead after missing for weeks

Kampala, (UG):- Opesen Lawrence, a 21-year-old student at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and son of famed Dr Felix Ocom, the Deputy Director of Mulago Institute of Public Health is no more.

The tragic announcement of Opesen’s painful demise caused deep sorrow among friends and family who grieved the passing of a talented young man with a bright future ahead.

The 21-year-old had gone missing more than two weeks ago until his body was found in a city mortuary earlier this week.

Family members told this website that initial reports pointed at a tragic road accident as the cause of Opesen’s death in an incident reported to have occurred in Nakawa on April 20, 2024.

By early morning on Wednesday, May 08, details of the youthful student’s death went viral on WhatsApp and other social media platforms with mourns and eulogies from close relatives and pals.

 “We lost him. The camera footage at Nakawa lights showed he was knocked down by a trailer” read a message shared on WhatsApp status accompanying his picture.

Opesen was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Bukedea District today, Thursday, May 9, 2024.
