Jilted lover flees after hacking fiancée in Dokolo

Dokolo, (UG):- Police in Dokolo District have launched a manhunt for a jilted man accused of wounding his eloped fiancée for alleged infidelity.

The suspect identified as Jasper Apenyo, a resident of Telela village, Adeknino sub-county is wanted for hacking Sarah Aceng.

It’s reported that Aceng had gone to meet her other unnamed boyfriend at a trading centre on Sunday evening when the incident happened.

Preliminary reports indicate that while with her lover, the suspect stabbed her severally on the back of her head with a kitchen knife and later fled from the scene.

Moses Odongo, LC1 Chairperson of Telela village said that they heard someone alarming in the evening hours and rushed to check what was happening only to find Aceng’s body lying in a pool of blood with
several wounds.

He however attributed the incident to suspected infidelity between the victim and her husband-to-be

“Aceng’s first marriage failed sometime back. She eloped with Apenyo and they were staying in their rented house. The man she was dating became suspicious that she was cheating and eventually hacked
her,” Odongo said.

A police officer at Adeknino outpost in Dokolo district who asked for anonymity says that they have entered a case of assault at Adeknino Police Station and are tracing the whereabouts of the suspect.

By Monday evening, Ms Aceng had been taken to Dokolo Health Centre IV for treatment as investigations are ongoing.
