FUFA Regional League winners confirmed as race for Big League promotion takes shape

The race towards promotion to the 2024/2025 Fufa Big League is on after the eight Regional Football Associations (RFA’s) confirmed winners of their respective leagues. 

MYDA Fc from Bukedea won the NorthEast RFA title after overcoming Tubur FC 5-0 in a one-sided regional league playoff final held at Sebei College in Kapchorwa.

Zombo’s Paidha Black Angels FC also defeated Araka FC 2 – 1 in the West Nile RFA final held at Greenlight Stadium in Arua City to claim the regional title.

In the Western RFA Ntoda FC saw off Bunyaruguru United FC 2 to 1 at a parked Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara City to claim the regional title.

Elsewhere Buhimba United Saints FC will battle Rwenzori Lions FC on the 1^st of June 2024 at Owobusobozi playground in Kagadi to determine the winner of the Kitara RFA.

In the Kampala RFA, Proline FC will lock horns with Catida Fc to determine the regional winner on Friday 31^st of May 2024 at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-finalist Pajule Lions FC will take on former big league side Northern Gateway FC on 1^st June 2024 at Elephant Stadium in Nwoya to determine the Northern RFA league winner.

Mbale Garage FC from the Eastern RFA will aim to win the regional title when they play host to Busei FC (Iganga United FC) on the 9^th of June at Mbale City Stadium.

The Buganda RFA league remains the only undecided region at the moment as 4 teams, Simba (UWA Fc), Kira United Fc, Ntugasaze Fc and Buwambo United FC still have mathematical hopes of topping their respective zone tables with only one game to play.

At the end, four Fufa Big League promotional playoff encounters will take place on a home-and-away basis to determine the teams that will play in the 2024/25 BetPawa Big League.
