St. Lawrence University’s beach soccer juggernaut Sunday showed no signs of slowing down on Sunday, as they successfully defended their title for the fifth consecutive time at the FUFA Technical Centre beach soccer arena.
The Saints defeated Kampala City 4-3 in the final to take their title tally to now six in total, five of which have come in the last five seasons consecutively.
Baker Lukooya’s brace and goals from Brian Nkuubi and Joshua Letti Lubwama sealed the deal for St. Lawrence. Lukooya’s quickfire double in the first period set the tone, with Nkuubi adding a third before the break.
Kampala City’s Paul Lule scored a brace in the second period, but Lubwama’s goal proved to be the match-winner. Ambrose Kigozi’s late strike for Kampala City was mere consolation.
