Buddu, Kyaggwe to face-off in 2024 Masaza Cup Final

The stage is set for a heroic Masaza Cup final as Buddu and Kyaggwe emerged victorious in the second leg of the semi-finals held Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Buddu secured their place with a 4-2 aggregate win over Kyaddondo, while Kyaggwe advanced after a tense goalless draw against Buweekula, winning 2-1 on aggregate.

At the Sports Arena in Kitovu, Buddu faced a formidable challenge from  Kyaddondo, who were looking to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.

The match kicked off with high tension, as Kyaddondo led by coach Nyanzi Meddy needed an early goal to shift momentum in their favor.

They delivered in the first half minutes making the aggregate score at 3-2.

However, Buddu responded brilliantly, with Hudson Mbalire himself equalizing in the 68th minute, sealing the match at 1-1 and ensuring Buddu’s progression to the finals with aggregate of 4-2.

Meanwhile, at the NTC Mubende, Buweekula and Kyaggwe battled for supremacy.

Despite Buweekula’s valiant efforts, they were unable to break the deadlock, leaving the aggregate score at 2-1 in favor of Kyaggwe.

The match saw the presence of Buganda Sports Minister Robert Serwanga and other dignitaries, including County Chiefs Luweekula and Ssekiboobo, as the atmosphere was charged with anticipation.

With the matches concluded, Buddu will be joined by Kyaggwe at the final scheduled for November 2, 2024, at the iconic Namboole Stadium.
