Entebbe, (UG):- Uganda Premier League giants Vipers Sports Club Friday confirmed parting ways with head coach Nikola Kavazovic after just four months in charge of the Kitende-based club.
The Serbian tactician’s tenure, which began in June 2024, was marred by a strained relationship with the club’s management and limited success on the pitch.
“Vipers Sports Club informs its stakeholders and the general public that it has, by mutual consent, ended its contractual relationship with Nikola Kavazovic effective immediately.” the statement released on October 18, stated.
In his brief stint at Kitende, Kavazovic oversaw only three league matches, achieving one victory, one draw, and one loss into this new season 2024/25.
The Serbian’s tenure also saw the team reach the final of the FUFA Super 8, where they were narrowly defeated by BUL FC in a penalty shootout last season.
His last match in charge was the club’s 2-1 victory over SC Villa before the international break, after which he was suspended.
Kavazovic’s absence was felt again during the recent 2-0 win over Wakiso Giants, where assistant coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda took the reins.
Currently, the Venoms sit joint second in the league standings with 10 points, following a solid start to the season.
The club did not announce a replacement for Kavazovic by Friday evening.
