Eyewitness accounts state that as the court proceeded on the afternoon, Kenyi fell suddenly while in the dock, prompting Magistrate Emmanuel Perimba to immediately halt the session.

“Kenyi had just gotten up in the dock when he suddenly fell. Court attendants quickly rushed him to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” said Mr Henry Kaggwa, the LC1 chairman of Namagabi A village who witnessed the collapse in court.

Kaggwa further noted that Kenyi had been struggling with health issues and had ridden his motorcycle to the court that day and that it could have been the cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, some of the NRM leaders in the district described Kenyi as a dedicated and humble supporter of the party whose demise has robbed the party of a great cadre.

“Whenever NRM matters arose, Kenyi would step forward to support his party,” Kayunga North NRM chairperson, Mr Livingstone Kyagaba said of the deceased.

By Thursday evening, Kenyi’s body had been conveyed to Kayunga Hospital to determine what exactly caused his death as his family awaits the postmortem report to proceed with burial arrangements.
