Kampala, (UG):- The Senior Presidential Advisor and Manager of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has commended the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) for fostering unity among Muslim faithful as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Speaking at the UMSC Corporate Dinner held at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Wednesday evening, Hajjat Namyalo praised the organizers for hosting a memorable event that highlighted the strength and solidarity of the Muslim community in Uganda.
“This dinner is not just a celebration of 50 years of the UMSC but a testament to the unity, resilience, and commitment of the Muslim faithful in contributing to national development,” she said, adding; “As ONC, we are committed to supporting Muslim causes that uplift communities and promote inclusiveness across the country.”
Hajjat Namyalo enphasized the importance of Muslim unity, noting that collective efforts could address challenges facing the community.
“When we stand together, we are stronger. Unity is the foundation for progress and empowerment, and I am inspired by the solidarity displayed here tonight,” she said.
The ONC Boss crowned her speech by reciting verses in the Holy Quran, before an impressed Mufti Mubajje reached into his pockets to appreciate her.
Hajjat Hadijah’s commitment to supporting Muslim initiatives through ONC was well-received, with many attendees applauding her dedication to fostering development and unity by empowering those on the margins of society.
The dinner, part of a series of activities commemorating UMSC’s golden jubilee, attracted high-profile leaders and dignitaries, including the Supreme Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Ramathan Mubajje, 1st Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abbas Byakagaba, 3rd Deputy Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama, and members of the diplomatic missions.
In his remarks, Supreme Mufti Mubajje lauded the Muslim community for remaining steadfast despite challenges, emphasizing the Council’s role in guiding and uniting the faithful.
The Chief Guest, Hon Rebecca Kadaga, who is also the 1st Deputy Prime Minister, in her remarks, echoed the message of solidarity and praised UMSC for its 50 years of impactful service.
The dinner set the stage for the grand celebrations scheduled to take place at Kololo Independence Grounds, where President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officiate as Chief Guest.
