Kizito Moses Nsubuga unveils bold manifesto for Kampala Lord Mayorship

Kampala, (UG):- In an ambitious bid to transform Uganda’s capital Kampala, Kizito Moses Nsubuga, a promising candidate for the Lord Mayorship, has unveiled a comprehensive manifesto that aims to position the city as a sustainable, inclusive, and thriving hub prioritizing the well-being of its residents while driving economic growth.

With a clear vision of a Kampala that works for all, Kizito’s campaign is built on seven key pillars aimed at addressing the city’s most pressing issues and fostering a brighter future.

Infrastructure Development

According to the NRM die-hard, Infrastructure Development stands at the forefront of his 2026 manifesto, with a commitment to upgrading road networks and alleviating traffic congestion that has long plagued the city.

Kizito aims to expand drainage systems to tackle flooding and collaborating with developers to promote affordable housing are also crucial aspects of this pillar, promising an immediate and lasting impact on urban living.

Health Improvement

Kizito’s manifesto also prioritizes the enhancement of public services. This includes modernizing health facilities for accessible, quality care, bolstering education systems with better resources for teachers and students, and creating more efficient waste management systems with a focus on recycling and sustainability.

Economic Empowerment

Economic empowerment is yet another cornerstone of Kizito’s campaign. Through targeted support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), incentives for job creation, and initiatives, Kizito aims to develop vibrant markets and trade hubs, to stimulate job growth and bolster local businesses.

Environment and sustainability

Environment and sustainability are also critical to Kizito’s manifesto, with a strong emphasis on preserving Kampala’s natural resources. He aims to increase green cover through extensive tree-planting initiatives and protect wetlands, while encouraging renewable energy use via subsidies and public awareness. Regulations for industries will be strengthened to ensure they meet environmental standards and contribute positively to the ecosystem.

Skilling Youth and Women

The manifesto also recognizes the power of youth and women as key drivers of development. Skill-building programs tailored to the modern job market, platforms for women entrepreneurs to gain financing and mentorship, and dedicated youth recreation centers all form part of this commitment.

Transparency

Kizito’s promise of accountable leadership resonates strongly, with a commitment to transparency, citizen engagement through town halls, and anti-corruption measures to prevent the misuse of public resources. His approach seeks to instill a sense of trust between the city’s leadership and its residents.

Smart City

Finally, the campaign envisions a smart city that harnesses technology for improved traffic management, public safety, and service delivery. With increased focus on digital literacy and support for tech startups, Kizito aims to foster innovation and make Kampala a leading example of modern urban development.

With the slogan, “Kampala for All – Progress, Unity, and Opportunity,” Kizito Moses Nsubuga is rallying residents to join him in making Kampala a city that is not only livable but also thriving, dynamic, and prosperous. As he steps forward with this powerful manifesto, he promises to lead with integrity, engage with citizens, and deliver tangible results for a better Kampala.
