Pallisa (UG):- The top management and administration of St. Peter’s Junior and Secondary Schools in Pallisa district are promoting the exposure of talented children in the sports and music industry.
Dr Simon Peter Okiria, the Director and Founder of St Peters Junior School which runs both nursery and primary sections situated and St. Peter’s SS Amusala told DailyExpress that they have taken it upon themselves to register and sponsor all talented children in sports.
According to Dr Okiria, sports markets don’t flood and corruption free as the skills, and abilities are considered not any other attachments.
“As a country director of a faith-based NGO called Young Life Uganda and a sportsman myself, I started partnering with high profile coaches like Pierre Renga from South Africa whom I brought to train officials in the rules of foosball which was the first to be initiated in Uganda in 2020. This game is rare most people even don’t that it exists, so Renga helped in how to set the pitch, and a tube of air inflated by a generator and played by 12 people,” Dr Okiria said in an exclusive interview with this publication.
“In foosball, a player is tied with a belt around the waist and restricts the ball possessors to rotate an angle of 360 degrees as the belt tied around his/her waist doesn’t allow free movement or move and the player must pass the ball before 15 seconds elapse to avoid cautions the school has numerous indoor and outdoor games not only foosball but other games as well so that children develop a love for being at school,” he added.
Dr Okiria explained that their offer should be taken in good faith and should be associated with any political inclination and that all the tapped children will be considered for easy monitoring and drilling.
“We couldn’t move around during ball games competition in the second term 2024 but am certain given the widespread of DailyExpress the community will get to know about us,” he said.
Augustine Okudel, one of the proprietors told DailyExpress that they have sourced clinical games and sports teachers, drills and physical development masters to handle the lads and lasses.
Mr Okudel said other school academic programs remain the same and following their track record in performance in primary leaving, UCE and UACE examinations the school intends to modify its service to fit the current expected standards that yield value for fees.
Tolbert Oullo said Dr Okiria is a very ambitious man in tapping and promoting hidden talents. ” The new innovations the managers of St. Peter’s have thought of will propel this school to greater heights given the previous record in sports and academics,” he said.
