Kamuli, (UG):- The Territorial Police in Kamuli District is actively hunting for one Kakabala Isabirye over the alleged defilement and rape of a 10-year-old minor.
The incident occurred Saturday, January 4, at Butaga village in Namwendwa Subcounty, Kamuli District.
Preliminary findings indicate that on 4/1/2025 at around 1900/c, the mother to the victim was feeling unwell and sent her daughter to Butaga Trading Center to buy sauce.
However, along the way, the minor found Isabirye who grabbed her, took her to a nearby sugarcane plantation, and forced her into a sexual act. The suspect later went away from the scene, leaving the victim behind.
The victim started looking for her mother whom she later found and narrated the story. The mother reported at Nawansaso Police Post, and the case file was moved to Kamuli Police Station.
We appeal to the members of the public to fully take responsibility in matters of child protection, especially during holidays, as there are sexual offenders waiting to make use of any available opportunities
