Kampala, (UG):– The Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) Manager, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged Muslims to maintain discipline, good conduct, and spiritual devotion beyond the Ramadan fasting period.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner hosted by Centenary Bank at Hotel Africana on Monday evening, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized the significance of repentance and seeking divine guidance, reminding the faithful that the values upheld during Ramadan should be carried forward throughout the year.
“Let us be repentant before the Almighty and seek His protection and sustenance during this period. Those harboring bitterness should let go and continue in this spirit beyond Ramadan,” she said.
Hajjat Namyalo also commended Centenary Bank for hosting the dinner, noting that such initiatives help strengthen unity within the Muslim community. She acknowledged the importance of solidarity and compassion, particularly in supporting the underprivileged during Ramadan.

The ONC boss further announced plans to host a separate Iftar dinner specifically targeting the less fortunate and those struggling financially. “We shall organize an Iftar for those who struggle to make ends meet,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to community support initiatives.
Monday’s dinner brought together key figures from both the religious and political spheres, including Super Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, Buganda’s Deputy Katikkiro, and senior officials from Centenary Bank. The event served as a platform to foster stronger ties among leaders and the Muslim faithful.

ONC’s Previous Ramadan Support Initiatives
This is not the first time Hajjat Namyalo is actively engaging and extending Ramadan to the Muslim community during the fasting period.
Last year, the ONC manager donated essential food items such as rice, sugar, flour, and cooking oil to mosques, orphanages, and vulnerable families across different regions of Uganda. The initiative aimed to ease the burden of fasting Muslims who face economic hardships, ensuring they had sufficient food for Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and Iftar (breaking of the fast).

In addition to food aid, Namyalo’s office also extended support to Muslim women and youth groups, empowering them with capital and skills training to help them become self-reliant even beyond the fasting period.
Her continued engagement with the Muslim community has strengthened her reputation as a leader who prioritizes grassroots support and inclusive development, as per the directive and task assigned to her by the President.
