Mbarara, Uganda:– The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged Ugandans to embrace peace, unity, and economic growth, as President Museveni’s leadership has ushered in an era of stability and prosperity.

Speaking at Wednesday’s grand Iftar dinner held at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City, Hajjat Namyalo rallied leaders and residents to focus on development rather than political divisions.

In her mouthwatering speech to the gathering, Hajjat Namyalo underscored the importance of national unity, warning against violence and political conflicts that derail development.

“Let us avoid shedding blood. We all want wealth, but we must remember that everything in this world is temporary. Instead of fighting each other, let’s embrace peace and focus on economic growth. This is President Museveni’s era of peace and economic stability,” she said.

The ONC boss encouraged local leaders to prioritize development initiatives that uplift communities, urging people to leverage government programs aimed at poverty reduction.

The event, which came against the backdrop of last week’s successful Kampala Street Iftar, brought together thousands of Muslims and leaders from across the political spectrum, including members of the ruling NRM, NUP, FDC, and the Patriot League of Uganda (PLU).

Religious and Political Leaders Praise Namyalo’s Initiative

At the function, the former Mayor for Mbarara City, Apostle Wilson Tumwine, commended Hajjat Namyalo for her commitment to fostering national cohesion, noting that the Iftar had successfully brought together key religious and political figures in western Uganda.

Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Mukwaya, the District Kadhi of Mbarara, expressed gratitude for Namyalo’s outreach efforts and invited her to be the chief guest at the upcoming Mbarara Qadh Run 2025, scheduled for April 13, 2025. “Thank you, Hajjat Namyalo, for remembering Mbarara. You are a special breed that Allah has sent. May Allah grant you good health,” he said.

Sheik Mukwaya also reminded her of President Museveni’s unfulfilled pledge of UGX 250 million, which was promised in 2017 to help establish a Muslim radio station in western Uganda.

“Dear Hajjat, President Museveni pledged UGX 250 million for a Muslim radio station, but up to now, we have not received it. Kindly remind him on our behalf. If he fulfills this promise, his support in this region will only grow,” he emphasized.

In response, Hajjat Namyalo acknowledged the significance of the radio project, emphasizing its role in education, cultural awareness, and community mobilization. “I have heard your concerns, and I assure you that I will personally remind President Museveni about this pledge,” she said.

As Namyalo continues her nationwide mobilization efforts, the Mbarara Iftar dinner marked yet another step in strengthening government-community relations, reinforcing peace, faith, and economic transformation under President Museveni’s leadership.
