Kampala, Uganda: The FUFA Disciplinary Panel has slapped NEC FC Head Coach Hussein Mbalangu with a two-match suspended sanction and a UGX 1 million fine for breaching Article 13 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code.
The decision follows Mbalangu’s post-match remarks after NEC FC’s Uganda Premier League encounter with Kitara FC on April 10, 2025.
FUFA confirmed in an official statement that the sanction will only be enforced if the coach repeats similar conduct in future. “He has also been fined UGX 1,000,000 payable with immediate effect,” the federation noted, adding that the coach has also been cautioned about his future behavior.
In a separate ruling, Express FC has been sanctioned over acts of hooliganism by their fans during their 2-2 draw against Vipers SC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on April 11, 2025.
According to FUFA, Express fans threw bottles at match officials, a violation of Article 14(11) of the Disciplinary Code.
Subsequently, the club has been handed a suspended two-point and two-goal deduction, which will take effect if such incidents recur.
“Express FC have been fined UGX 1,000,000 payable within 14 days from the ruling,” FUFA added.
The federation emphasized that disciplinary standards will be strictly enforced to maintain order and integrity in Uganda’s top-flight league.
