Journalist Bwayo Emma joins race for Namisindwa LCV seat

Namisindwa, Uganda: Renowned journalist and youth leader Bwayo Emma has officially declared his candidacy for the Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson seat, pledging a leadership rooted in transparency, accountability, and people-centered service delivery.

Bwayo, who currently serves as Head of Marketing and Business Development at Elgon FM in Mbale and hosts a political talk show at the station, announced his intentions while rallying support from youth and community leaders.

“I am offering myself to reshape the image of Namisindwa,” Bwayo stated. “It’s time for a leadership that speaks the language of the people, delivers on government programs, and fights corruption with zero tolerance.”

With over a decade of experience in media and youth leadership, Bwayo, who also represents the district as Male Youth Councilor on the NRM ticket, says he is ready to offer transformational leadership. “I bring national and international exposure that will directly benefit the people of Namisindwa,” he said.

Bwayo started his political journey in 2015 as the Youth Chairperson of Namabya Sub-county at age 23.

He was elected as District Male Youth Councilor in 2021 and previously served as Minister for Cooperatives and Marketing in the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution.

He later became Speaker of the Eastern Uganda Youth Parliament and served on the European Union Youth Sounding Board, making him one of the most widely networked youth leaders in the region.

In the media, Bwayo launched his career in 2013 at Voice of Bugisu before joining Elgon FM in 2015, where he continues to shape public discourse through his political programs.

He will face incumbent LCV Chairperson Jackson Wakweika and retired medic Situma Mango in a tightly contested race that is already drawing widespread attention across the district.
