Bugisu Clergy represent BCU at Africa-wide Agricultural Conference in Malawi

Lilongwe, Malawi: The Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) is representing Uganda at the 7th Africa-Wide Agricultural Extension Week in Malawi, with a delegation led by senior union officials and prominent clergy from the Bugisu sub-region.

BCU Accountant Fiona Nambozo, known for strengthening financial transparency within the cooperative, is heading the team. She is joined by spiritual leaders who play key advisory and moral roles in BCU’s development agenda, reflecting the cooperative’s faith-driven approach to community transformation.

The delegation includes Rt. Rev. Samuel Gidudu, Bishop of North Mbale Diocese and Chair of the BCU Religious Council, whose unifying leadership has been instrumental in aligning faith with development.

Also in attendance is Rt. Rev. Wilson John Nandaah, Bishop of Mbale Diocese, known for championing social transformation in Bugisu, and Father Jerome Olowo, a Catholic Church representative offering spiritual and pastoral guidance to the cooperative.

Sarah Nambozo, BCU’s Head of Sales and Marketing, is also part of the team, credited for her efforts in expanding the market reach of Bugisu coffee both locally and internationally.

Their participation at the continental conference underscores BCU’s expanding influence in shaping agricultural extension services and its commitment to empowering rural farmers through innovation, sustainability, and spiritual solidarity.
