Buikwe, Uganda: Three people are feared to have died on the spot and several others critically injured in a tragic road accident that occurred Wednesday night along the Jinja-Kampala Highway at Biko Trading Center in Njero, Buikwe District.
The crash occurred at around 10 PM on Wednesday, June 11, and involved a Mini Bus registration number UBR 565W, which collided head-on with a truck whose registration number was yet to be confirmed by press time.
Eyewitness Thomas Ojok, a guard at Postalina Petrol Station, said the collision was intense and left the minibus severely damaged, killing three of its occupants instantly.
In a secondary incident, a taxi identified as UBA 061K reportedly rammed into the wreckage. However, no deaths or injuries among its passengers had been confirmed by authorities by the time of filing this report.
Ojok added that police officers arrived shortly after the crash to begin investigations into its cause, as emergency responders worked to rescue the injured and manage the accident scene.
