Kampala, Uganda: The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has invited members of the Parliament of Uganda for a three-day tour of key football facilities, which will culminate in a friendly football match at the newly constructed Kadiba Stadium.

Scheduled to run from Monday, June 16th to 18th, 2025, the visit is part of FUFA’s regular infrastructure review aimed at strengthening partnerships with key government stakeholders in the development of Ugandan football.

“The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has extended an invitation to the Parliament of Uganda to visit the newly constructed Kadiba Stadium and other key football facilities from June 16th to 18th, 2025,” FUFA announced on Friday evening.

The spotlight of the tour will be Kadiba Stadium, FUFA’s latest infrastructure project, located in Rubaga Division, Kampala. The stadium stands as a symbol of growing investment in football infrastructure and a strategic push to elevate the domestic game.

Besides Kadiba, the MPs will also tour Lugazi Stadium, Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, and the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, facilities pivotal to both grassroots and elite football in the country.

One of the most anticipated moments of the visit will be a football friendly between the FUFA President’s XI and the Parliament Football Team, underscoring the strong links between football administrators and lawmakers.

The FUFA President’s XI will feature Uganda’s celebrated football legends, including Hassan Mubiru, Hakim Magumba, Alex Isabirye, and Tony Mawejje, while Parliament’s team will be guided by Tom Lwanga, a former Uganda Cranes defender.

The friendly match is expected to foster stronger relations between football stakeholders and government representatives, particularly as Parliament has played a vital role in lobbying for increased state funding to support the sport.
