Bushenyi, Uganda: Counsel Ndyakira Nicholas Muhereza has officially been nominated by the NRM Electoral Commission to contest in the upcoming party primaries for the Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality parliamentary flag ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The nomination was conducted today, Thursday, June 19, by NRM EC Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi, confirming Muhereza’s eligibility to participate in the internal party race scheduled for July 16, 2025.
Speaking shortly after the nomination, Muhereza, dubbed Ekinawolovu by his voters, pledged to uphold party values and deliver service-oriented leadership if entrusted with the mandate.
The Bushenyi-Ishaka MP hopeful noted that his decision to run is driven by a desire to champion youth empowerment, legal reform, and economic development in Bushenyi-Ishaka.
The lawyer-turned-politician joins an expanding field of NRM contenders vying to replace the current MP for the constituency in the next political term spanning 2026–2031.
NRM party officials praised the smooth conduct of the nomination process and reiterated their commitment to a transparent and peaceful primary election.
