CHAN 2024: Uganda Cranes unveil 41-man squad, preps start Monday

Uganda Cranes' provisional 2024 CHAN squad features 41 locally-based players drawn from top UPL sides.

Kampala, Uganda: The Uganda Cranes technical bench, led by Fred Muhumuza and Morley Byekwaso, has unveiled a provisional 41-man squad for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), with non-residential training set to commence Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Prisons Grounds in Luzira.

As per CHAN regulations, all selected players are active in the domestic Uganda Premier League (UPL), reflecting FUFA’s focus on local talent development ahead of the tournament co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

The squad features notable inclusions like Yunus Sentamu (Vipers SC), Allan Okello (Vipers SC), and Milton Karisa (Vipers SC), as well as rising stars such as Patrick Kakande (SC Villa) and Reagan Mpande (SC Villa), promising a blend of experience and youthful energy.
