Kampala, Uganda: Renowned American evangelist Pastor Benny Hinn on Saturday evening prayed for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Maama Janet Museveni, and the nation of Uganda as the country heads into a critical 2026 election season.
The prayer was part of a high-level meeting hosted by the President and the First Lady at Nakasero State Lodge, where discussions centered on faith, national unity, and Uganda’s future.
“Pastor Benny Hinn, the American evangelist currently in Uganda for a three-day crusade, visited me and Maama Janet. We engaged in meaningful discussions on faith and religion, followed by a heartfelt prayer for our nation,” President Museveni posted on his official X account shortly after the meeting.
The First Lady also joined the engagement, sharing her thoughts on how faith-based institutions can support Uganda’s development and moral transformation.

Pastor Benny Hinn’s visit comes at a time when Uganda is preparing for the 2026 general elections. The President, who earlier on Saturday picked nomination forms to contest as NRM flag bearer, emphasized that the country welcomes spiritual leaders who encourage peace and unity.
“As a country where 85% of the population identifies as Christian, we welcome him. I therefore wish him a blessed and pleasant stay,” Museveni said.
Thousands of Ugandans attended Benny Hinn’s crusade at Miracle Centre Cathedral Grounds in Rubaga, with organisers promising evenings of healing, revival, and intercession for Uganda’s leadership and the wider East African region.
