Kampala, Uganda: Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has extended his warm congratulations to Hon. Moses Hassim Magogo following his re-election as President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), pledging continued collaboration to strengthen football development in the country.
In a congratulatory message released shortly after the 101st FUFA Ordinary General Assembly held on Saturday, July 05, at Hoima Resort Hotel, Coach Put praised Magogo’s leadership and commitment to the sport.
“Please accept my warmest congratulations on your victory,” Put wrote. “I would be grateful if you could convey my felicitations to the Vice Presidents and the Members of the Executive Committee elected alongside you.”
Put also commended Magogo’s “tireless efforts, dedication, and invaluable contributions” that have shaped the growth of football in Uganda, adding that he looked forward to working closely with the re-elected leadership during the new term.
Magogo, who first assumed the FUFA presidency in 2013, was elected unopposed by acclamation and will serve his fourth term through 2029. His re-election was marked by broad continuity, with many familiar faces retaining their positions on the FUFA Executive Committee.
Among those re-elected were Justus Mugisha as 1st Vice President and Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi as 3rd Vice President. Dr. Twaib Azar joined as the new 2nd Vice President, succeeding the late Darius Mugoye.
Other returning Executive members included Rogers Mulindwa (Buganda), Ronnie Kalema (Referees), Rasoul Ariga (West Nile), Issa Magoola (Eastern), Agnes Mugena (North East), Rogers Byamukama (Kitara), Apollo Ahimbisibwe (Kampala), Dan Obote (Northern), and Frank Ankuzire (Western).
New faces on the Committee are Deo Mutabazi (Uganda Beach Soccer Association) and Ronald Barente (Chairman of BUL FC), while Abdul Ssekabira Lukooya returned after previously serving from 2017 to 2021. Richard Ochom, however, did not retain his seat.
In his acceptance remarks, Magogo pledged to consolidate FUFA’s progress and intensify efforts to uplift Ugandan football at all levels. “We are committed to building on our past achievements and taking football in Uganda to greater heights,” he said.
