Mbale, Uganda: Mogo Uganda, in partnership with Airtel Uganda, has extended its smartphone loan service in Eastern Uganda, with Mbale City serving as the regional hub. The initiative is designed to expand access to digital services by making smartphones affordable and accessible to Ugandans through flexible loan payments.
The launch event, held on Thursday at Mbale Courts View Hotel, was presided over by Mbale Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Stanley Bayole, who underscored the role of technology in driving community transformation.
“This program gives every Ugandan a chance to own a smartphone and harness the power of technology for growth,” Bayole said.
Mogo Uganda Sales Manager, Douglas Kikonyogo, highlighted the speed and convenience of the service.
“Customers can walk into a partner shop, choose the latest smartphone, and access a loan in less than 15 minutes. Payments are made in small daily installments with no late charges. We are making smartphone ownership easier, faster, and affordable for everyone,” he said.

According to Mogo Uganda, the smartphone loan service is part of a broader digital inclusion drive, connecting entrepreneurs to markets, students to knowledge, and families to each other.
