Seeta, Mukono: Police Fire and Rescue Services are battling a fire outbreak at Mogas fuel station in Seeta, with authorities warning of heavy traffic disruption along the busy Kampala–Mukono highway.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, firefighting efforts are ongoing, with the exact cause of the blaze yet to be established.
“The Police Fire and Rescue Services have responded to a fire outbreak at Mogas, Seeta. Efforts to extinguish the fire are currently ongoing, and the exact cause of the incident will be communicated in due course,” Owoyesigyire said.
Authorities say the ongoing emergency response has already caused significant traffic congestion in the area, prompting the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety to issue alternative route guidance.

Motorists travelling from Mukono towards Kampala have been advised to divert via Seeta–Sonde Road through Namugongo.
Those heading from Kampala to Mukono are encouraged to use the Jookas route through Namanve Industrial Park or alternatively the Northern Bypass via Naalya–Sonde–Seeta.
Police have apologised for the inconvenience caused and urged road users to remain patient as emergency teams continue to manage the situation.
More details regarding the cause of the fire and any possible damage are expected to be released once the situation is fully contained.
