Kiryandongo, Uganda- The Executive Committee of Mboria Women Farmers Savings and Credit Cooperative Limited (SACCO) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening financial inclusion and economic empowerment by intensifying the formal registration of both existing and new members ahead of the official launch of the cooperative.
The resolution was reached during an executive meeting held this week, where members discussed final preparations for the historic launch scheduled for Saturday, 22nd August 2026 at Mboira Primary School.
According to the executive Chairperson, Miss. Ocunah Shamim Emma, she revealed that the ongoing registration exercise is aimed at ensuring that all interested members complete the necessary membership requirements before the official launch, allowing them to immediately benefit from the SACCO’s savings, credit, and investment opportunities.
The launch is expected to attract hundreds of community members, farmers, entrepreneurs, development partners and political, cultural and religious leaders from across the region.
The Guest of Honour is expected to be the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, alongside other distinguished guests including the Prime Minister of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Andrew Byakutaga, His Majesty Ubimu Phillip Rauni Olarker III, King of Alur Kingdom, Kiryandongo District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Katusiime Jovia, Kibanda North Member of Parliament, Hon. Linos Ngompek as well as district leaders, local government officials, and other invited dignitaries.
Beyond the official launch, the event will also celebrate culture and entertainment with performances from renowned artists, including Yoo Leng Star Odongo Romeo, Bishop David King, Bush the King, Baraka, Brother Jimmy and Joanitah Aparwoth.
One of the major highlights of the day will be the much-anticipated return of Joanitah Aparwoth to the music industry. The celebrated artist will be officially introduced to the stage by Odongo Romeo, where she is expected to announce her musical comeback before entertaining guests with a special performance.
The Executive Committee has called upon all interested members who have not yet completed their registration to do so before the launch date to avoid missing out on the benefits offered by the cooperative.
The leaders emphasized that Mboria Women Farmers Savings and Credit Cooperative Limited was established to improve household incomes, promote a culture of saving, provide affordable credit to members, and support sustainable agricultural and business development within the community.
The official launch is expected to mark a significant milestone in empowering women, farmers, youth, and other community members through collective savings, investment, and financial independence.
