Kampala, Uganda: Uganda Premier League clubs Kitara FC, Lugazi FC and Entebbe UPPC have continued strengthening their squads during the ongoing transfer window as they prepare for the 2026/27 season.
The three clubs have completed several key signings aimed at improving their competitiveness in domestic and continental competitions.
Kitara FC have secured the services of experienced midfielder Nicholas Kasozi, who joins the Royals on a two-year contract from Tanzanian side Kagera Sugar.
Kasozi returns to Ugandan football after spells with Synergy, SC Villa and KCCA FC, and reunites with head coach Wasswa Bbosa, under whom he previously played at SC Villa.
He becomes Kitara’s latest signing following the arrivals of Martin Kiiza, Jackson Ssembatya, Ghanaian midfielder Christopher Bonny and Misi Diego Ssemugera.
The Hoima-based club is preparing for a demanding campaign that will see it compete in the FUFA Super 8, FUFA Super Cup, Uganda Premier League, Stanbic Uganda Cup, and CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile, Lugazi FC have also strengthened their midfield with the signing of Christopher Birungi from Nyendo FC on a four-year contract.
The attacking midfielder joins fellow new recruits Jamaldin Buchochera and Louis Anguti as the club continues rebuilding ahead of its third successive season in the Uganda Premier League.
The club has also retained experienced duo Richard Ayiko and Moses Buga, who have signed contract extensions.
In Entebbe, UPPC have reinforced their backline with the signing of Congolese left-back Yannick Mitrail from UAE side Fujairah FC.
Mitrail becomes the latest addition to the Printers’ squad after the arrivals of Anwar Ntege, Sharif Ssengendo, Ronald Kayondo, Grant Matsiko and Swadiki Moro.
The club hopes the new arrivals will strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming Uganda Premier League campaign.
With preseason preparations intensifying, clubs across the league continue to reshape their squads in a bid to challenge for domestic honours when the 2026/27 season gets underway.
