Kampala, Uganda: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Regional Affairs, Hon. Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo, has bid farewell to Sudan’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Ahmed Ibrahim, following the successful completion of his four-year diplomatic assignment in the country.
The farewell courtesy call took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offices in Kampala, where the two leaders reflected on the longstanding bilateral relations between Uganda and the Republic of the Sudan.
During the meeting, Hon Kasolo expressed Uganda’s appreciation for Ambassador Ibrahim’s contribution to strengthening diplomatic ties, cooperation and friendship between the two countries during his tenure.
“I conveyed my sincere appreciation for his invaluable contribution to strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between Uganda and the Republic of the Sudan during his tenure. His dedication has further enriched the cordial relations enjoyed by our two countries,” Kasolo said.
The minister thanked the outgoing envoy for his service and wished him success in his future diplomatic and professional engagements.
Kasolo also reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to deepening its bilateral partnership with Sudan and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“I wished him every success in his future endeavors and reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to advancing our mutually beneficial bilateral partnership,” he added.
Ambassador Ibrahim concludes his tour of duty after serving in Uganda for four years, during which the two countries continued to engage on matters of diplomacy, regional cooperation and shared interests.
