Kampala, Uganda — Uganda is set to host the Africa Financial Intelligence Summit (AFIS) 2026 from November 9 to 13 at Speke Resort Munyonyo Convention Centre, bringing together regional and international stakeholders to strengthen the fight against financial crime.
The five-day summit brings together financial intelligence authorities, law-enforcement agencies, regulators and international experts to discuss strategies for tackling the growing threat of financial crime across the continent.
The discussions will focus on challenges arising from digital technologies, sophisticated financial systems and cross-border criminal networks, which are making financial crime increasingly difficult to contain within national borders.
Held in strategic partnership with the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (IICFIP-USA), AFIS 2026 is being held under the theme “Securing Africa’s Financial Future: Intelligence, Innovation and Integrated Enforcement in an Era of Borderless Financial Crime.”
AFIS 2026 is expected to promote intelligence sharing, technological innovation, cross-border cooperation and integrated enforcement as key approaches to strengthening Africa’s financial security and resilience.
The gathering will also provide a platform for financial intelligence and law enforcement institutions to exchange expertise and explore coordinated responses to criminal networks operating across national boundaries.
Organisers say the summit’s central message is that tackling financial crime requires cooperation beyond individual countries, given the increasingly interconnected nature of financial systems and criminal activity.
As the host venue, Speke Resort Munyonyo Convention Centre will provide the setting for discussions bringing together regional and international stakeholders whose work is central to protecting financial systems and addressing illicit financial flows.
For Speke, hosting AFIS 2026 further highlights its role as a venue for major conferences and international engagements in Uganda, connecting business, institutional and professional communities through high-level gatherings.
