“We shall crash you”, Gov’t Warns Sectarianism Perpetrators

The government issued an offensive warning to the general public to stay away from actions that promote sectarianism, else they face vindication and arrest over treason.

The government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo told journalists in Kampala that whoever will be caught preaching tribalism will be crushed. He adds the NRM is the most professional government that awards positions of authority on merit but not on tribal lines.

“This primitive talk of tribalism is being promoted by the opposition wanting to paint a bad picture about this government. We understand that we are in a political season but we shall not allow people to preach hate and discrimination on tribal lines. The long arm of the law shall squeeze those who think are big headed,” Mr Opondo said during the press conference at .

This comes days after police arrested Motor-mouthed Baba TV journalism Basajja Mivule on Monday Morning and 4 Radio Simba presenters “Bizonto”, for allegedly promoting tribalism in their comedy skit(s).

Despite the comedians saying they intended to teach children, now stuck at home because schools are shut down, about the people who occupy strategic positions in the country, this fell on deaf ears as the police held them in custody until press time.
