Police arrest 23-yr-old for beating colleague to death in fistfight

A twenty-three-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly beating a 20-yr-old colleague who was pronounced dead on arrival at Gulu regional referral hospital, in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Police have identified the deceased as Dennis Uhuru, a resident of Aworagaa village, Bungatira Sub-county in Gulu district.

According to police, the deceased (Uhuru) got involved in a fistfight with Paul Rubangakene, a work colleague at a retail shop in Gulu. He (Uhuru) was over-powered during the fight.

Rubangakene is currently held over murder at Gulu Police station, according to Aswa Region Police publicist, Patrick Jimmy Okema.

“Uhuru was beaten badly by Rubangakene leading to his death,” Okema was quoted in a police statement.
