NBS TV’s Sheila Nakabuye dies during Childbirth

NEXT MEDIA SERVICES | NAGURU: NBS Televison’s Journalist and Bureau chief for South Western Uganda Sheilah Nakabuye has died hours after giving birth.

Nakabuye gave birth to a live baby girl on Saturday morning May 15 at a private medical facility.

According to a statement announced by NBS TV, Ms. Sheila Nakabuye passed away this morning at the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital at around 9 am.

“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our colleague and Bureau Chief for Southwestern Uganda, Sheila Nakabuye,” NBS tweeted on Monday.

According to Nakabuye’s mother, the NBS TV Bureau Chief suffered seizures shortly after giving birth and slipped into coma. She was then rushed to Mbarara Regional referral hospital and on Monday morning, doctors announced her death.

Next Media described the development as “sad” and “terrible.”

“She was a hard worker whose positivity we shall all miss greatly. Rest in Peace, Nakabuye,” the media house announced.

Several workmates have poured out their eulogies online praising her for being friendly and creative in executing her duties.

“Rest well my Bureau Chief Nakabuye Sheila, we spoke, laughed, shared our story ideas, pitches, and how we can execute them. May the good Lord take you in with Love Sheila,” Benson Ongom, NBS’ Northern Uganda correspondent wrote on Twitter.

“Rest in peace Nakabuye. You fought a good fight, lost your own life while giving life,” Daniel Lutaaya another NBS journalist said.

Nakabuye will be buried today Monday 17, at 5PM at Kabasanda, Butambala district.
