STATE HOUSE | UGANDA — President Museveni has Sunday announced the death of his paternal aunt Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano who passed on aged 97 years.
Museveni in a tweet on Sunday morning said his aunt Keminagano died at 8:00 pm last night at Nakasero from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair.
“I regret to announce the death of one of my paternal aunts (tatenkazi), Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano (97). She died at 8pm last night at Nakasero from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair,” the President wrote.
Aunt Keminagano will be buried at Rwakitura, on Monday July 26.
The President said very few people have been requested to conduct the burial in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations.
“The relatives, acquaintances, and friends, are requested not to try and congregate at the burial because it is dangerous and has no value addition”.
He said a video recording of the burial will be done and shared with all concerned.
“We praise the Lord Almighty for her long life. May her soul rest in eternal peace. This is to inform all relatives, friends, acquaintances, and the NRM fraternity”.
