KIBALE, UGANDA: Members of the Kibale District Finance Committee led by the chairperson Mr. Charles Businge are up in arms with the District finance Officer Patrick Ahaisibwe over the delayed release of quarterly field monitoring funds.

During their committee meeting held on Thursday at district headquarters, the finance committee members say since May this year, they have never received any funding for field monitoring exercises in the district.

“Everyone is entitled to get 179000/= quarterly but since May this year no one has ever received these funds and this compelled us to fail to carry out the activity”, the members said.

John Byabasaijja from the district finance office however dismissed claims stressing that they received the money for the first quarter and some of the members received the money on mobile money after requesting it.
“Many of the members always claim funds for field monitoring but even when they receive it, no one reports to the field”. Byabasaijja said.

Leonard Ssemata the Kibale district principal commercial Officer called for calm among members and promised to organize a meeting with the District CAO to solve the matter.
